Things not to Forget to Do this Weekend

I realise I’ve double… no, its TRIPLE! booked myself this weekend. Alas, how forgetful of me.

Just this morning I was telling a friend that its ironic my ex-colleague would give me a bottle of Memore (Ocean Health memory boosting supplement) when all I did so far was to forget to take it. And now, I went and overbooked myself. Really! If these are not signs of aging, I have no clue what is!

So here’s a list of things I must NOT forget to do this weekend:

Saturday

1. Visit MAAD @ Red Dot Design Museum

This is the Monthly collective event for designers to gather and showcase their wares. Mental note to bring more cash along! Spree Spree!

MAAD - Sep 2009

2. Dinner @ Ikoi with Friends

Much looked forward to event. Partly to catch up, satisfy our sashimi cravings and to comfort each other that having sushi for buffet is less sinful that normal international buffets. Plus fish is good for the brain. Very noble reason (excuse) to binge.

3. Jazz by the Beach @ Sentosa

For the whole of September, Sentosa has lined up a series of Jazz performances by Siloso Beach.

5 Sep: Dylan Foster Quartet and k’Ass
12 Sep: The Fusionazz Project and Casey & Friends
19 Sep: Maya Nova featuring Rick Smith and Ireson
26 Sep: Nusound and Angelita & Friends

Looks like I will have to forgo Dylan Foster and k’Ass. Darn, now I can’t find out if they really kick ass or ends up making me feel like kicking their’s.

Sunday!

1. Qwirkii.com

A little online project, the brainchild of Su and I and the Hitler of my brain cells.

I should complete the logo drafts and finalize it soon for the launch before the time I seppuku my next birthday cake.

2. Material Shopping

Am short of nice bits of ribbon, colored Zips, some metal parts and oh yes, which reminds me.. Barnslig’s tie is frayed again. I swear, that lion is a miniature shredding machine.

Also do need to take photos of the finished stuff I have.

3. House Shopping

Easier said then done. Alot of legwork, alot of considerations. Am not looking forward my marriage status co-habiting with that of being heavily in debt.

*waves fist in air* Damn you HDB. How do the government expect their population to have families when they welcome marriages with a gift of the 40-year debt. I might as well keep Facebook kids. Less of a financial burden, mental stress and I skip the adolescence emo nonsense all together. I don’t even have to dread the day I might have to explain the birds and bees to my kid! One bonus point to Virtual Reality!

Now that I’ve put down a weekend in words. I hope I’ll remember them!

Friday Night with Su

This Friday night is special because I get to chill out with Su!

Put us two women who are frustrated with their work together on a wonderful Friday night and you get lots of bitching, letting go (of work related frustrations), lots of fun, intellectual conversations and an overflow of ideas.

We wanted to check out Night and Day but there were no seats left and its really really really dark. So we backtracked to Starbucks. We both ordered the Caramelized Hazelnut Chocolate Muffin. Yum! I liked the bits of hazelnut in it. A warmed up muffin can be such a comforting meal!

Check out Su’s DIYed purse. She used vintage cloth her mom purchased sometime in the 70s. The inner pocket lining is made from old T-shirt. How ingenious! I’m inspired to get my ideas made too. So watch this space!

Had a real good time chatting, exchanging ideas till the place closed and we were asked to leave. So off we went, to Roomful of Blues!

Roomful of Blues is really a nostalgic place. Cosy atmosphere, nice Asahi Drafts, enjoyable music. Its the only place where the visitors actually sing aloud with the band too! Interesting. All regular customers too. Nice place just to chill out in. Only gripe is that the music that play during the band’s intermission was so blah.

I went home with lots of ideas floating around in my head. I can’t wait! And yes! Su and I are going to check out MAAD tomorrow!
