Limit Break

There’s a long list of inexplicable things we do just simply because it feels right at the moment. We’re all probably better classified as ‘Suckers for Pain’, needing to feel the prick and pain to reassure us that we’re alive, we’re creating, we’re contributing…

If not, why would we choose stay in situations that are obviously draining and painful? (Reason other than we lacked the guts to leave.)

Occasionally, shyt happens (in the work place).

Many a time I feel like I’m the goose that’s being reared for foie gras.

I get so many things shoved down my throat that I choke, sputter and gasp for air. I’m almost certain I’m going to implode but it never happens.

More often than not, I behave like a naive little toddler, dolling out tidbits of patience to a pool full of piranhas. Even when I run out of grub, the beasts will gnaw at my fingers, toes and limbs till I’m a fraction of I used to be and perhaps better off dead.

Even the best engine is not meant to run non-stop.

Even the world’s best surfer will not be able to continue riding wave, after wave, after wave, like a never ending story.

I can usually keep my cool. Although occasionally I’ll reach my limit and like what happens in computer games, go berserk and be an utter bitch, destroying all that so much as dare rest a toe across my path.

True Story

It’s a cyclical process – Run, Fall, Bounce Back.

We’re all stronger than we think but weaker than we look.

The Reading List

So, I’ve wondered why did I ever set myself the gargantuan task of reading 28 books before I turn 28. At this rate, its 4 books a month, 1 book a week. *gulp*

Also, I’m feeling the guilt from all the piles of books I’ve ill-treated. It would seem that I bought them just for the momentary therapeutic retail effect and not for the mental nourishment that comes along with reading its contents. Besides, there’s also no denying the fact that the sooner I read them, the earlier I get to spree again. Shopping FTW!

So without further ado, here’s the list for now. Its not 28, but hey~ one needs to buffer for shopping too!
