Hello Coco!

Happy M(eow)nings

From a few years ago, I always said I would have a pet cat named Coco and she’ll look like a little white tiger. Somehow things just happened. Everything fell in place and today, everybody, say hello to Coco.

She’s Coco Bay (Bay being the family name). Born on 11 Nov 2011. A bit of British Shorthair, a bit of mystery and mostly American Shorthair. She’s been with us since she’s 5 weeks old. We’ve watched her grow, from a tiny kitten that could easily fit in the palm of our hand to trice the size.

Before I got her, I heard people tell me that having a pet is an immense burden and sacrifice on our parts. A drain on both time and money. I beg to differ.

To be frank, Coco brought with her a spate of problems when she joined us. The day we brought her back, we realised that she has gotten fleas infected from her litter. Two days later, her right eye swelled shut from a scratch inflicted during play with her siblings before we got her. Another couple of days later, she got fever and a clogged nose. She also refused to eat anything. After her eye healed, her ear had problems. We flea-shampooed her, took her to the vet, forced fed her milk and meds, bathed and treated her eye for close to two months.

Today, her eye isn’t 100% yet, but she’s a healthy, crazy kitten, dashing all across the house chasing toys and shadows. From getting stuck at the third step when she arrived, she now dashes up the stairs, even occasionally taking two steps at one bound. She loves milk,  plain yogurt and fish. I love coming home to her waiting at the door, waking up to her meowing outside our bedroom and having her slip in once the door opens a crack.

This blog will probably see more of her as days go by.

For more photos, Coco has her own FB page, twitter, instagram and tumblr page. (well, we’re both shutter crazy and geeks. So expect nothing less.)

Anything Goes

Karaoke Buddha

Yes, it is a funny sight, this Buddha wielding Karaoke Microphone.

But on second thought, don’t you agree that adventure only comes when you step out of your comfort zone and be outrageous, courageous and do something new, feel the adrenaline and go on an adventure?

Be brave.

Take the plunge.

Anything goes.

Fly

Art Installation - National Museum of Singapore

When I first saw this interesting installation at the National Museum, it reminded me of the quote:

If you wanna fly, you got to give up the shit that weighs you down.
