Tron – Lights, Camera, Action
Before this, I’ve never heard anything about Tron. Not a single squeak. After the movie, I’m a fan, of its mind blowing digital effects, chic black fashion and gorgeous cast.
Tron has not much of a plot to speak of. Having not followed up with the first edition, its relatively easy catching up with the basics of the Grid background. The storyline is conventional (a tad boring if you please) – Father trapped in Digital World, Son goes to save him, Father sacrifices himself, Son comes back to rule his inherited Software Empire.
That being said, I would still find it fitting to give Tron a thumbs up because sometimes, its the overall package that delivers, not simply about the plot, twists in endings nor clever tongue in chick puns or cliffhangers (pftah. hate cliffhangers.) Tron, with its flashy lights, OTT imaginary Grid world has two of the audiences’ most important desires captured – Sight & Sound.
1) Amazing soundtrack by Daft Punk
2) Gorgeous cast like Olivia Wilde (Picture, need I say more)
