NDP 2009 – The 2nd Combined Rehearsals

I wanted to compare my past experiences at NDP to this years’, but I can’t remember much of the first NDP I attended for I was still too young. Only vague recollections about my mom commenting on how cleverly the performers shaped the formation into that of an Orchid. My next was in 2006, the last celebrations at Kallang Stadium. (My prev blog on 2006 NDP)

This year, the theme was Come Together. And come together we did. Thanks to 24Seven, 11 of us came together to enjoy the combined rehearsals for NDP and to share our experiences. We never met each other before this, and feeling abit like the first day at school, we gathered, made friends and everything went off from there.

Before I start, I would like to thank the organizing committee for NDP2009 for their dedication and efforts. The performances totally RAWKS! (I won’t give spoilers as yet. PROMISE!)

What stands out for this year’s celebrations is that besides being simply a total visual fiesta, the music and remixes will have you tapping your feet, bobbing your head and itching to just get up and PARTY!

There is also the clever use of space which is evident from the stage design, the lighting effects, mini platforms and sea.

The programme was rather well thought out (well, except the News Interruption at the beginning. That didn’t work for me). It does create the rapport with the audience, and draws us all into the spirit of the celebration.

I can’t wait for National Day to come. Will be putting up the stuff I took on Flickr. (once I settle my account of coz!)

Have you hung out your Singapore Flag yet?

Transformers – Revenge of the Fallen

If you watching for:

- The story, the plot

[You might reconsider]

- The action, the fightin’

[You'll LOVE the movie]

- The robots, Optimus, Bumble Bee and Co.

[You'll probably watched it before you read this]

- The romance story between the leads

[Not memorable]

- Megan Fox

[Did you know she's a tranny?]

The movie is good. In fact, very good I would say. But I would minus some points for the unbelieveable plot that comes across as forced. Especially at the end. However, Optimus Prime gives the movie an extra edge with his Robot-Man-Bitch comments as he rips through the enemies and fights for his believes. Memorable quotes in the likes of  “You’re a waste of metal” and “I’m gonna rip off your face” has me rather amused. I like this new personality in him. Adds dimensions.

A little too soon to be wondering.. But.. are they gonna make Transformers 3?
